Hi — I’m Stefanie, the founder and maker behind Blue Waters Apothecary. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about health and well-being for my family, my friends, and myself. Over the years, that passion has taught me one clear truth: our bodies and nature were meant to work with one another — not against one another. My journey into skincare didn’t start in a lab or with a trend — it started with my own skin. I’ve lived with eczema my whole life: flare-ups tied to stress and food, and reactions triggered by everyday contact with water, sweat, soap, and clothing. Growing up, I often avoided short sleeves or summer days because my skin was uncomfortable and reactive.
Years of prescribed steroid creams left sensitive, thin skin in areas doctors told my mom would never strengthen with age. That experience shaped how I think about skincare:I wanted products that actually worked for sensitive skin — products that didn’t rely on complex formulas, confusing ingredient lists, or unnecessary synthetics.And when I looked for them… I couldn’t find options that were clean, effective, and affordable. So I started making them myself. All BWA products are FREE from: binders, preservatives, fragrance oils, fillers, ALL the things that create overload on the body's adrenals, hormones, and skin.
Product Care- Keep out of direct sunlight. Tallow products can be refrigerated to extend shelf life.
How to take tinctures: Shake prior to use. Adults- take 1-2 dropperfuls either by mouth or added to 8-16oz of water up to 3x per day. Most may be added to your favorite beverage.

Warning: many people who are new to using topical magnesium may experience an itching/tingling sensation. The following article explains why:
Reasons Why Magnesium Stings: There is a very strong link between low levels of magnesium in the body and the stinging caused by magnesium oil. In most cases, people who experience this burning sensation during or after applying magnesium balm believe that their skin is sensitive to magnesium oil. However, this is not always true. The reasons why magnesium can cause skin tingling can be any or the combination of the following:
Severe deficiency:
Magnesium oil causing itchiness can be the sign of low levels of the mineral in your body. Therefore, the more severe the deficiency is, the more severe the sensation. Itchiness is often a side effect when magnesium deficient skin is first introduced to Magnesium. This "urgency reaction" causes the blood vessels to open quickly, creating friction under the skin. This sensation and other side effects should subside when the product is used consistently, and the body no longer has the "urgency reaction".
Too much magnesium at once:
Rubbing a ton of magnesium on your skin can be tempting if you are deficient, however, it is not always the best idea. Suddenly ramping up the amount of magnesium oil you apply may contribute to the stinging sensation. Gradually your body gets used to the topical magnesium, especially if you are a first-time user.
Vasodilatation:
Magnesium acts as the vasodilator that relaxes muscle cells and increases blood flow in capillaries. This may also cause a stinging sensation.
Salt residue:
Technically speaking, magnesium oil is Magnesium Chloride Brine, i.e. salt water. Once the oil has been absorbed into the skin, it may leave behind a slight residue, which can trigger itchiness for individuals with sensitive skin."

Please allow up 3-5 days for your order to be shipped. Orders are shipped out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Important: During warm seasons, we highly suggest that all tallow products are delivered to an address where items will NOT sit in the heat for long periods of time as consistency can change.
Incomplete or incorrect shipping addresses may result in your package being returned or abandoned. Return shipping fees or loss of item is to be covered by the customer.
Please double-check the shipping address is correct before submitting your order/payment. Shipping addresses cannot be changed once an order is placed.
Blue Waters Apothecary is not responsible for your package after it is shipped. All claims must be filed directly through USPS with the tracking info you are given if you need to locate/file for a lost or stolen package.
All shipped orders receive a tracking number once an order is filled. An invoice, along with the product, ordered are in the box.
All items in The Shop are non-refundable.
